Core principle

Ozone (O3) is an unstable allotrope of oxygen and a strong oxidant. Because it decomposes, it is normally generated at the point of use. Its behaviour in a process depends on concentration, contact time, temperature, pH, humidity and the substances present.

Engineering relevance

This topic should be considered as part of the complete treatment system—not as an isolated generator specification. Feed gas, ozone production, transfer, contact, residual handling, material compatibility, monitoring and personnel safety all affect dependable performance.
